What you need to know about UV measuring techniques
Essentially, there are three basic measuring techniques:
- Hand-held measuring instruments with a connected sensor (see the first section of the product range)
- Sensors for building into systems for UV measurement, with external sensors and an associated monitor, predominantly with switch thresholds for signal generation. (see right)
- Lamp testers for testing discharge lamps for gas filling and electrode operation.
In practice, a relative measuring procedure is the preferred measuring technique. With this, the output value at 100 hours is taken as the zero point and the radiation fall off is controlled and documented. Sensors grow old and must be recalibrated at regular intervals to ensure that accurate results continue to be achieved.
We would be pleased to advise you on the selection of the most suitable measuring technique to meet your needs and on the application of that technique in practice. |
